The Summer of 2009 will go down as one very busy summer for Jake and Jake Wright Motorsports. When all of the kids were going on family vacations and playing video games the race team loaded up the hauler to battle ever single weekend of the summer. The 96 Bandolero and the 96 Allison Legacy car definitely saw a ton of action racing around the State of Texas.
The 96 Bando has qualified no worse then outside front row and has 1 win and 5, 2nds to his credit. Jake used the experience he is learning in the Allison car and has shown to be a power house every time he rolled into the track. Leaving the competition wondering how they can compete. His smooth driving style and true grit determination has certainly payed of racing in the Bando series at Houston Motorsports Park.
The Allison car went through some tough weekends at Thunderhill as Jake crashed 3 straight weekends in a row as he was caught up in other cars struggles. However due to the help of Umshied Race Service the last time we ran at Thunderhill proved to be a turning point in the season. Though we did not have the finish that we were looking for the car ran and raced better than it has all season. This weekend the 29th of August we are pulling out all of the stops. Engine and chassis issues have been corrected and new rubber will be on the car. Look for Jake to have his best finish since Corpus and finish the year strong with 4 races to go
